Sometimes, a few words can mean more than we realize.
When someone we care about is going through a difficult time, we often want to reach out, but we may not know what to say. We might worry about saying the wrong thing. We may feel like we need to offer advice, solve the problem, or somehow make everything better.
But supporting someone doesn’t always require the perfect words.
Sometimes, a simple “I’m thinking of you,” “I’m here,” or “You don’t have to go through this alone” can remind someone that they are seen, cared for, and not forgotten.
That’s why Nisa Foundation created Send a Little Hope, a free collection of downloadable and shareable cards designed to make checking in on someone a little easier.
It’s easy to underestimate the impact of checking in.
Someone may be having a hard day without talking about it. They may be feeling overwhelmed, grieving, anxious, lonely, or simply exhausted. And sometimes, people don’t need advice. They just need to know that someone noticed, someone remembered, and someone cares.
A message doesn’t have to be long or profound. It can be as simple as:
“I was thinking about you today.”
“No pressure to reply. I just wanted you to know I’m here.”
“You’re in my duas.”
Those few words can create space for someone to respond if they want to, without pressure.
The Send a Little Hope collection includes messages for different kinds of moments. You’ll find gentle words of encouragement, reminders that someone is not alone, Quranic verses, duas, and simple messages for difficult days. The cards are designed to be easy to save and share, whether you want to send one through WhatsApp, text, Instagram, or DM.

You don’t need a special occasion to reach out. Sometimes, simply thinking of someone is reason enough.
One reason people hesitate to check in is because they’re unsure what will happen next.
What if the person opens up?
What if they tell you they’re struggling?
What if you don’t know what to say?
You don’t need to solve everything.
You can listen. You can be present. You can let someone know that what they’re feeling matters. And if they need more support, you can gently encourage them to speak with someone they trust or connect with professional help.
Showing care is not about having all the right answers. Sometimes, it’s simply about making sure someone doesn’t feel like they have to carry everything alone.
For many Muslims, faith can offer comfort during difficult moments. A familiar ayah, a sincere dua, or a reminder of Allah’s mercy can bring a sense of calm and connection when someone needs it most. That’s why Send a Little Hope includes Quranic reminders and duas alongside simple messages of care.
These cards aren’t meant to replace a conversation or professional support. They’re simply another way to say:
I’m thinking of you.
I care about you.
May Allah make things easier for you.
Checking in doesn’t have to be something we only do when we know someone is struggling. It can become a small act of care we practice regularly. Send a message when someone crosses your mind. Reach out to the friend you haven’t spoken to recently. Send a dua to someone going through a stressful season. Share a reminder with someone who may need a little encouragement.
Small acts of care can help strengthen our connections with one another.
If someone came to mind while reading this, consider reaching out today.
