As a donor to NISA Foundation, you have the right to:

1. Transparency and Accountability

1. Be fully informed of our mission, vision, and values, as well as the specific ways your donation will contribute to achieving our goals. (https://www.nisafoundation.ca/about)
2. Access the most recent financial statements, reports, and outcomes related to the programs and initiatives you support. (https://www.nisafoundation.ca/about/annual-reports)

2. Stewardship of Funds

1. Be assured that your donations will be used effectively and exclusively for the purposes for which they were given.
2. Expect that our Board of Directors exercises prudent judgment and oversight in all financial matters.

3. Privacy and Confidentiality

1. Have your personal information and donation details handled with the utmost respect and confidentiality, in accordance with applicable laws and privacy standards.
2. Opt-out of receiving communication from us or having your name included in mailing lists shared with third parties.

4. Recognition and Engagement

1. Receive appropriate and timely acknowledgment of your contributions.
2. Expect professional and respectful interactions with NISA Foundation representatives, whether they are staff, volunteers, or contractors.

5. Inquiry and Feedback

1. Ask questions about our programs, policies, or financials and receive prompt, truthful, and forthright answers.
2. Provide feedback or suggestions to improve our donor experience and philanthropic impact.

Donation Guidelines

1. Tax Receipts
   Donations made to NISA Foundation are eligible for tax receipts in accordance with Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) guidelines.
2. Gift Designation
   ‍While unrestricted donations allow us to address the most pressing needs, we honor donor preferences for designated gifts when indicated.
3. Refunds
   ‍In most cases, a registered charity cannot return a donor's gift. See Canada Revenue Agency.
4. Ethical Fundraising Practices
   ‍We adhere to ethical standards outlined by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) and comply with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
