Since opening its doors in 2016, Nisa Homes Vancouver has been a haven for women and children fleeing violence, poverty, or homelessness.
Today — with the support of BC Housing — we’ve expanded to meet the growing need, doubling our capacity and Nisa Home Vancouver has a total of 24 beds: 21 for transitional housing and 3 in our Second Stage Housing Unit deepening our commitment to safety, healing, and hope.
With this expansion, we've doubled the capacity to accommodate more clients in the community in a culturally responsive, trauma-informed environment designed to meet clients where they are.

- Accessible Suite: Includes a private bathroom and stair lift, designed for residents with mobility challenges
- 24-Hour On-Site Staff: Trained support staff are available day and night to respond to crises, medical concerns, and emotional needs
A Community Effort
This milestone — expanding to a 24/7 transitional shelter with increased capacity, an accessible suite, and a second-stage unit — was made possible through our partnership with BC Housing.
Their investment reflects the Province’s commitment to increasing safe, stable housing for women and children escaping violence and navigating homelessness.
But we didn’t get here alone.
Community support has always been the heart of Nisa Homes Vancouver — from the day we opened in 2016 to today. It’s your generosity that has filled the gaps, uplifted families, and helped us meet needs that funding alone cannot cover.
As we continue to grow, we still rely on that support to sustain critical wraparound services such as:

As we continue to grow, we still rely on that support to sustain critical wraparound services such as:
- Mental health support
- Children & Youth programming
- Financial assistance (rent, transportation, food, gift cards)
Together, with public funding and community care, we can offer more than safety — we can offer hope.
How You Can Help
Every dollar donated helps us bridge the gaps that grants cannot cover — and meets the urgent needs of women and children in crisis. Your donation helps fund mental health support, food security, and children’s programs at the Vancouver Home, not to mention remote assistance to the women in Vancouver who call us each year seeking shelter or other forms of support.
You can also fulfill our Amazon Wishlist that reflects the current needs of our residents at our Vancouver Home. Your support helps us provide comfort and care for those we serve.
